Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

Do those as seen on TV exercise, fitness and workout machine infomercials really live up to their claims? Currently, there’s plenty of TV fitness infomercials being aired on television for those looking to wage war against weight, slim down and find ways to get in swimsuit or beachbody shape. Maybe you’ve seen the infomercials for the Hip Hop Abs or abdominals workout DVD set. These feature intense cardiovascular workouts with pulsating hip hop music, geared towards getting people in shape as they try to get those rock hard abdominal muscles.

One extremely popular workout system that is being promoted is Tony Horton’s P90X Workout, Fitness and Nutrition Guides. Tony’s system is a series of DVD workout videos, nutritional planning guides and personal training information which claims viewers who order and use the product as instructed (with diet) can get themselves in great shape, ready for the beaches within 90 days. This as seen on TV fitness product seems like it could be just the thing to get to achieve top fitness and health results.

Specific products include items like the Susan Lucci Malibu Pilates Chair. This chair allows people to get low impact yet intense workouts while doing a combination of yoga, pilates and muscle sculpting moves. This item can also help people achieve the beach bodies they want complete with nice abdominal muscles, but only if the product is used properly and consistently, combined with a healthy nutritional diet.

Tony Little’s Gazelle Edge Review

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

One very well known entrepreneur and fitness guru is the highly animated and energetic Tony Little. His major fitness product, The Gazelle has been seen on numerous infomercials featuring Tony and his workout partners gliding on the machine to stay in shape. Tony Little’s Gazelle Edge is considered the lightest weight model of the Gazelle family and supports a maximum of 250 lbs weight. Other versions of the Gazelle exercise machine include the Gazelle Freestlye and Gazelle Power Plus. It’s an exercise device which works both the upper and lower body while giving a great cardiovascular workout to burn calories, reducing fat and shedding pounds. So the Gazelle exercise machine has the backing of a fitness guru who seems to be in great shape with a lot of energy, but does the Gazelle Edge by Tony Little really work?

One of our infomercial product testers recently ordered the Tony Little Gazelle Edge straight from the infomercial for just $74.99 and chose rush delivery. Typically the Gazelle takes about 4-6 weeks with standard delivery, but in this case the free rush delivery brought it in 12 days. Included in the box were the actual Gazelle Edge exercise machine (with built on workout computer), along with an instructional DVD and lifetime warranty. Our tester, Melissa, reported that Tony Little’s Gazelle took her only 15 minutes to assemble, requiring just a screwdriver and clevis wrench. After giving it a 30 minute initial test, she reported the Gazelle has a very sturdy construction, and it’s very easy on the knees, reducing overall joint impact.

One of the few issues our tester pointed out about the Gazelle Edge is about the workout computer built onto the device, which she felt wasn’t too accurate. The meter measures things such as your steps, calories burned, miles completed and acts as a timer. Our tester found that the various readings continued going even when the arms weren’t swinging, making it a less accurate measure. The meter swings with the bars while you’re moving making it harder to read your stats. Our tester also felt the workout she got was good, but it didn’t target the entire body like the product claims to, mainly just the biceps and legs, but not the abdominals as much.

Overall, our tester was pleased with the Tony Little Gazelle Edge product so far at the price she paid, feels it’s a great alternative to a treadmill and is much quieter for apartment situations. This review will be updated as more info becomes available about our tester’s experiences with the product.
